Enabling WP-Supercache

admin / August 30th, 2010/ Posted in Tutorials / No Comments »

There are many elements to a website, or more specifically to ensuring that it runs smoothly. Your server needs to be connected to quality bandwidth, and you need to load your content efficiently. One easy way to do that is to use caching. What caching does is this: it stores a page’s content and serves it in a manner that reduces the stress on your server, and in so doing, it increases the speed for your site’s visitors.

Google Apps setup guide.

admin / August 22nd, 2010/ Posted in Tutorials / No Comments »

Google Apps is a valuable tool for businesses and people alike. With it, you can use e-mail through Gmail’s interface, but with your website’s e-mail. In order to set it up through Cpanel, of course, you have to have your account set up through Google Apps.

Setting up your account will involve verifying it, which can be done in a number of ways. The system will guide you through the process, but perhaps the easiest option is to upload a text file that the system will give you. This will verify that you have administrative access to the domain. Once this step is complete, you will be able to set up your MX records, allowing your domain to exchange information with Google Apps.

9 years!

admin / May 5th, 2010/ Posted in General / 1 Comment »

Hello everyone!.

If you didn’t know, this is our nineth year so, we all here at Downtownhost thought it would be nice to reach to our customers in a more social way, and this is how we will do it.
As it is our birthday, you’ll all see that we are making changes.  In fact, we changed our site, we started this blog, and we are upgrading servers and softwares too.
Even though this is new to you, we have been working on this for over a year already with our designers, so you all know how much work and effort we had to put into this.  We were e-mailing back and forth with the designers, going to meetings, deciding which were the best options to do it, until we finally got the site you are now being able to browse.
