As many of you will have noticed, we recently performed a survey of our shared and reseller hosting clients. The aim? To find out what our customers think of Downtown Host and identify what we can do to improve the services we offer.

We’ve been analysing the data closely and the results are both encouraging and intriguing. Of course, results aren’t completely conclusive as we could only persuade a proportion of you to take the time to complete our survey. Here’s a quick snapshot from our Shared Hosting survey:

44% of respondents have been a Downtown Host customer for over 2 years!

91% of respondents would actively recommend Downtown Host.

93% of respondents describe Downtown Host as ‘friendly’.

55% of respondents rate our support speeds as ‘well above average’. (And a further 33% ‘above average’.)

51% of respondents rate the quality of our support as ‘well above average’. (And a further 35% ‘above average’.)

66% of respondents are ‘very satisfied’ with the products and service from Downtown Host – (the top rating we offered!)

96% of respondents use cPanel with Downtown Host.

70% of respondents have never visited the Downtown Host blog!

25% of respondents don’t speak English as their first language.

As expected, we scored particularly well for performance, uptime and support. We’re very proud of our hard-working support team. In addition to the ratings above, 55% of clients rated the friendliness of our support team as ‘well above average’.

Not only are the support team described as ‘friendly’, but Downtown Host as a whole is also described as ‘friendly’ by 93% of respondents. We’re glad to hear you’re getting all the positive vibes.

To our surprise, 70% of respondents have never visited this blog! So while we’ll work on letting clients know we’re here, it would be fantastic if you could help spread the word.  The official Downtown Host blog is here!

We weren’t surprised to see that 25% of respondents speak a language other than English as their first language. Our international reach is well-documented, and we’re delighted to see that clients from all over the world are enjoying our services. Spanish speaking clients had particularly good feedback for us as they benefit from our Spanish-speaking support provision.

Some will look on these results harshly, others will look at them favourably. I think we’ve performed very well – more satisfied clients were less likely to respond than less satisfied clients, which creates a slight negative bias in our statistics. But the truth is, we conducted this survey in order to find out how we can improve.  At Downtown Host every client counts. We’ll do whatever we can to offer each and every client the very best web hosting experience. That’s why we won’t settle for these results. In fact, we’ll never settle for anything less than 100%. And we’re proud to show it to you.
