Once you do this, you’ll be able to receive and respond to messages from your users, and messages pertaining to your site. One helpful hint would be this: set up a separate e-mail address for user messages. If you use an e-mail form on your site, send those forms to this special e-mail address, and use it for responding to your site’s users. This way, you don’t have to reveal your personal address.

However you decide to set up your e-mail on your BlackBerry, no longer will you have to wait until you get home from work to tend to those messages!

The BlackBerry makes it easy to check on your site. You can simply use its browser function to make sure the website is up. You can also log in to your Cpanel from the browser, if need be. While it may seem tedious compared to standard computer access, it can serve you well in the case of an emergency.

If you use uptime monitoring services to watch over your site, set up your alerts to be sent to an e-mail address that is connected to your BlackBerry. Or, if they send alerts via SMS, send it to your phone. This way, you’ll be alerted right away, and can take action as necessary, as opposed to finding out later, when you get home.

While you can’t perform every function on your BlackBerry that you can on a traditional computer, it’s certainly possible to tend to most functions. This can come in handy, as you can keep up on your site’s maintenance during downtime at work or school, or during breaks. This can prove useful, as you won’t have to carry a laptop around everywhere you go, just to check your e-mail or tend to basic site functions.
