Among the options that you can configure are how many times you want a user to be able to login within a 120-minute time frame. Next, you can set up a URL to send suspicious users to, and an e-mail address where alerts can be sent to you.

Finally, click on the “Enable” button to turn the Leech Protect feature on. At this point, the directory that you set up will be protected, making it more difficult for rogue users to abuse your paid or otherwise protected areas.

This would be entered into your DNS record under the TXT section.

The record shown above states that the mail servers openspf.org found do send mail (through SMTP), and that those servers are in fact the only servers that are authorized to send mail for that domain. You can discover more about the syntax on the site, and it can be customized to meet your specific needs.

After making your new SPF record, you will want to add it as a TXT record in your DNS zone files. Fortunately, this is quite easy to do with Cpanel.
Navigate to your Advanced DNS section under “Domains,” and then enter your domain name with a trailing period under “Name.” (example: ) Then, enter a value for TTL. You can simply enter a default 900 as the value. This sets how long it will take before the change goes live in your DNS. Next, you will want to click on the drop-down menu and select the “TXT” option.

Finally, enter the SPF record you created previously, complete with the quotes, confirming your changes.
Once this is completed, you will have an SPF record, which will prevent your domain from being misused by spammers or even your own users for the purposes of spam or other unsolicited mail activities. The most important thing is that it protects your domain from being “spoofed,” or making it seem as if mail is coming from your domain when in reality it isn’t.

If everything has been done correctly, you will be caching at this point, which will result in a noticeable increase in speed when serving web pages. This comes in particularly handy with WordPress, as there is a lot of code involved with PHP. It also will reduce the stress on your database, and it will serve you well when you’re hit with a sudden increase in traffic.
If you run into problems with the installation, consult the installation instructions in the link above. Most of the time, problems arise due to simple coding errors, and the situation is easily remedied.

Setting up your account will involve verifying it, which can be done in a number of ways. The system will guide you through the process, but perhaps the easiest option is to upload a text file that the system will give you. This will verify that you have administrative access to the domain. Once this step is complete, you will be able to set up your MX records, allowing your domain to exchange information with Google Apps.

Once you have set up your account, you’ll need to set up your MX records through Cpanel, so that you can receive e-mail. First, in the “Mail” section, click on “MX Records.” You can get more help through Cpanel’s site, but you’ll essentially be setting up several servers, so that your e-mail is certain to always get through.

First, click “edit” on your current MX records, and change its priority to 50. This will lower the priority, but not eliminate it, so that you don’t lose e-mail access while this change is going on. Next, you’ll add the MX servers as mentioned in the link above by clicking on “New Record,” and adding the servers and priorities as Google outlines.

Next, click on “Simple DNS Zone Editor.” You can either go to the advanced editor to make a current CNAME record (like webmail.yourdomain.com), or you can edit the current one, so you can still access mail.yourdomain.com, but through your Google Apps interface. You’ll add the CNAME record (like mail.)in one box, and the domain as “ghs.google.com” You can use this process to add records for Google Apps’ Calendar, Docs, and Sites, if you wish.

Finally, you’ll want to add an SPF record, which will prevent your domain from being misused for spam. Go into the Advanced DNS Editor, and add a TXT record. Enter this: v=spf1 include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~allWhen all these steps are done, you’ll be able to access your Google Apps mail interface through the CNAME that you entered, whether it be mail.yourdomain.com, or something else of your own choosing. You will then have the power of Gmail with your own e-mail address.

Some will look on these results harshly, others will look at them favourably. I think we’ve performed very well – more satisfied clients were less likely to respond than less satisfied clients, which creates a slight negative bias in our statistics. But the truth is, we conducted this survey in order to find out how we can improve.  At Downtown Host every client counts. In the “Files” menu of your Cpanel account, click on “R1Soft Restore Backups.” You will next want to click on the “+” symbol next to “Disk Safe0.” The name may differ slightly on your specific system. You will then see “home/dev.” Click on the plus symbol next to that.

Next, you should see several backup restore points, designated by blue cylinders next to them. Choose the date you want, and click on the plus symbol next to it. You will then see “/home.” Click on the plus symbol next to it, and you will finally see the structure of your site as it was when the backup was made.

Click on the plus symbols next the folders you want to navigate through, until you reach the files you wish to restore. Tick the boxes next to the folders or files you wish to restore. At the top right hand side of the screen, click on “restore selected files.”

At the final step in the process, you will be asked whether or not you wish to overwrite existing files. This comes in handy if you’ve accidentally corrupted a file, or edited it in error, and need to restore from your backups.

You will also be asked if you wish to encrypt the data, which is useful when dealing with sensitive data. You will then click “OK,” and the restoration process will begin.
A graphical bar will show the progress of your restoration, finally indicating 100% when done.
